Nature has blessed Pakistan with unique landscape, the high mountains; plateau plain, deserts and luring sunny beaches are found here. However, more than fifty percent of its area is mountainous. Particularly its Northern and North Western region which possess the most fascinating mountains on earth.
Crowe Pakistan recently organized a recreational tour for the associates to Kumrat Valley and Jahaz Banda located in the Upper Dir region of Pakistan. This initiative is the effort to acknowledge the hard work and contribution of all associates who have been an integral part of the firm.
Kumrat Valley is located in the Upper Dir district of KPK. The nearest town to the valley is Thall. Thall is around 45 km from Kumrat, and is used as the launching point for trips to Kumrat Valley. The Panjkora river, which originates in the Hindu Kush mountains, runs through Kumrat Valley, and the valley is incredibly lush and green. Kumrat Valley is mostly known for its beautiful deodar forest. The large deodars give Kumrat a fairytale-like ambiance. Unfortunately, many of the large deodar trees in Kumrat Valley and the surrounding areas are quickly disappearing, as their wood is used for warmth and cooking by locals.
The tour started from outside the office building where 63 participants started their journey for Kumrat. The journey was long and tiring but the enthusiasm of boys was spectacular. The first stay was made at Thall Village where the participants shifted to 4wd jeeps and continued their journey for Kumrat. That evening was spent in sightseeing where all the participants visited Kumrat forest and Kumrat Waterfalls.
Next day was planned for Jahaz Banda meadows for which participants had to take jeeps for half way and then had to trek to reach the destination. Jahaz Banda welcomed the participants with heavy rain. Staying in camps over the night in heavy rain was the experience worth have for the life time. Participant trekked their way out to the mesmerizing Katora lake the next day. Trekking on rocky path was not easy but if there were no hardships in the way the destination could not felt this much beautiful. Participants returned to Thall village from Katora lake and came back to Lahore the next day. The journey itself was tiresome but the memories collected during the trip are still being shared till this day even after one and a half month being passed.
